Mount Yard forms a key part of the Meadowside development, a masterplan spanning four sites that frame the historically significant Angel Meadow Park. Adjacent to the NOMA district on the northern fringe of Manchester City Centre and at the edge of the future Northern Gateway regeneration zone, the scheme plays a pivotal role in extending the city while placing the historic park at the heart of a vibrant new residential neighbourhood.

The wider masterplan will deliver over 700 homes across four distinct buildings, alongside greatly improved connections, new routes, and extensive landscaping. Mount Yard itself provides 136 dwellings, fronting directly onto Angel Meadow Park and forming part of the Meadowside development. The design carefully negotiates the scale transition between the historic warehouses to the south and the openness of the park to the north, drawing on the local industrial heritage in its materiality and built form while maintaining a confident, contemporary character.

The building prioritises street-level activation and improved connectivity, reinforcing links to the NOMA estate and the city centre. A landscaped podium deck creates a private garden for residents, while new stepped terraces with seating and planting connect the podium to the park, supporting a seamless relationship between public and private spaces.

The wider scheme includes the Stile & Gate buildings and a 40-storey residential tower that acts as a marker on the park’s edge, articulated as a series of glazed stacked boxes animated by winter gardens at seven-storey intervals. Together, these elements establish Meadowside as a distinctive residential quarter, where family apartments, townhouses, retail, and leisure spaces come together around one of Manchester’s largest green spaces.
