5plus architects have successfully developed and realised proposals for the redevelopment of a former petrol station into 8 new homes on a contained site on Kingston Road, Teddington. Our scheme responds strongly to the site context and consists of 7 houses and 1 duplex apartment.

The key aspiration of the development was to create high quality, attractive, compatible and sustainable buildings and open spaces that would complement and enhance the existing neighbourhood and community.

The development is environmentally and socially responsible and provides for outstanding architectural and spatial quality with a complimentary blend  of traditional and contemporary architectural forms and materials.

The scheme is broken down into 3 separate typologies, each of which responds to its locality within the site and the surrounding buildings. The dwellings are arranged in a coherent and contextual manner with the simple principles defined above establishing an order and a rational urban setting for the site.

The quality of the scheme has been recognised externally and was awarded a What House? Gold Award for Best House in 2016.
