Working for Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU), we designed and delivered a series of Student Hubs. The aim, to transform the existing student support service across three locations on their All Saints Campus; the Business School, Geoffrey Manton and the Brooks Building.

The project forms part of the Student Journey Transformation Programme (SJTP) and has resulted in a transformational new student support function. This comprises a predominantly online digital service, complemented by on-campus hubs, located in strategic locations.

Our design process began by mapping the typical ‘customer’ journey through the student enquiry process, which was then developed into a series of customer support settings: Self Service Area; Social, Flexible Waiting Area; Assisted / Triage Area; and Consultation Booths.

To define each hub, accent colours are used within the flooring and loose furniture to add a bold, fun and unique element to the design. A bespoke branding package, also developed by 5plus, further helps tie the settings together.
