Service: Architecture & Interior Design
In July 2019, 5plus architects was appointed to lead the interior design and fit-out of Liberty London’s Head Quarters, Lasenby House. The building is located next to Liberty’s iconic store on Regent Street. The Head office had already undergone a workplace review which had found that many of the functional needs and frustrations evident within the organisation were brought about as a result of challenges and constraints of the existing building.
Our initial work has translated into a design concept that focuses on the update/formation of three key spaces within the building:
-
The Reception – the building “handshake”
-
The Landing
-
The Gallery
The brand new reception will create an enlarged space created by remodelling the lower floors. This new area, combined with branding and architectural changes to the entrance, will provide the opportunity for a carefully curated ‘building handshake’ appropriate to the international standing of the Liberty London brand.
At Level 3, at the point of connection with the Store, we have proposed “The Landing” – this will be the central hub of the building both physically and emotively. At level 5, we propose the creation of “The Gallery”. This space will be communal and appropriate for touch down working, meetings, presentations and display.
Our proposals achieved planning permission and listed building consent in November 2019 with work now ongoing.
