Residential plans for Angel Meadow in Manchester, showcased earlier this year at MIPIM, have been submitted for planning.
Our designs put the historic park at the heart of a new neighbourhood that will provide 756 homes in four distinct buildings and greatly improve access and connectivity with new routes and landscaping.
The priority was to reactivate this area at street level reconnecting it to the rest of the NOMA estate and the city centre and to provide a mix of housing from large apartments aimed at families to town houses.
A 40-storey tower will sit at the far end of the park, a marker to visibly extend the city centre northwards. We have included winter gardens located every seven levels which animate the tower into a series of glazed stacked boxes.
A landscaped elevated podium deck will provide a private garden for residents with retail and leisure space below and a new series of stepped terraces incorporating seating and planting will link the podium to the park.
This is a landmark step for a historically significant part of the city.
