A planning application was submitted in November 2017 for the £5.2m overhaul of Urmston Leisure Centre.

The project includes the partial demolition and extension of the existing 1990s leisure centre, and will include new social and community leisure facilities as part of the Council’s wider plans to improve the health and wellbeing offer in Trafford.

The front of the existing building will be extensively remodelled with the existing swimming pool and sports hall upgraded as part of the plans.

Our concept is to replace the awkward front section of the building with a double height welcoming lounge/café area and touch screens where you can book yourself into classes and find space to meet friends. Large coloured pods to either side provide for new studios, changing, children’s party rooms and a climbing wall. A new large, open gym will be created at first floor between the pods, running from the front of the building through to the pool hall space with views down to the refurbished pool.

This  project forms part of our expanding portfolio of retrofit and new build work in the leisure sector.
