First Street has long been a regeneration priority for Manchester City Council and, after many years of positive development, is now well established as a destination within Manchester City Centre.

5plus were appointed by client Ask to develop proposals to planning for the next phase of development – Plot 9A. The aim to deliver a mixed-use development comprising both commercial office and complementary hotel bedspaces; the latter in response to specific operator demand.

The proposals include a 16 storey building comprising of circa 14,840 sqm of office floor space on floors ground to 10 and a 205 bedroom hotel on floors 11 to 16. Also provided are winter gardens for office accommodation, basement car parking, cycle storage. landscaping and public realm works.

The scheme achieved planning permission in December 2018.
