Tom McTernan, Architect

Since completing his MArch at the University of Edinburgh Tom has worked on a range of building typologies. During his time at 5plus Tom has worked on Oxygen, Manchester gaining valuable experience of a large scale, complex, residential project.

Prior to joining 5plus, Tom gained extensive experience on the design of low energy bespoke houses working for 2020 Architects and P4MCG Architects in Northern Ireland.

Tom has gained specialist knowledge of working with listed buildings through previous work with conservation accredited IWA Architects and Mullarkey Pedersen Architects.

Following on from his Masters Dissertation ‘New Design Possibilities for the Post Conflict City of Derry/ Londonderry’ which examined means of commemoration in the city, Tom continues to maintain an interest in current architectural research regularly attending conferences and symposiums organised by the Architectural Humanities Research Association.
