5plus Celebrate Creative New Talent

There was a great turn out for our third New Creative Talents exhibition and an enthusiastic reaction to the work on show by final year students from the MMU Faculty of Art and Design.

Pieces by A.M Harris, Bex Ilsley, Diane King, Kie Kie, Pauline Chorlton, Rebecca Kay Halliwell- Sutton, Sara Cutler, Sian Halfpenny, Theresa Kitching and William Bacon were displayed around our Manchester studio with guests voting for their favourite.

It was a close contest but Will Bacon tipped the vote with his paintings which explore the process of destruction and disintegration as creativity. He received a £500 prize – money he intends to spend on a trip to Italy. Wise boy.

It was an inspiring evening, the catalyst for new conversations with several pieces of work sold – including a Perspex skip by Kie Kie which now adorns the 5plus terrace at The Hive.

Our huge thanks to all involved.
